Vietnam
Vietnam is a densely populated country with a population of about 87 million people (2007). It suffers from a concentrated epidemic of HIV/AIDS. This means that at the moment, the highest prevalence of the disease is amongst the so called primary HIV population that includes drug users using syrettes, prostitutes and men who have sex with other men. The prevalence of this group reaches up to 28%, depending on the province, however the prevalence of the population in general is 0,53%. This means roughly 293 000 HIV infected people in 2007.
MAGNA operates in Vietnam since 2009. This consists of 1 international, 8 local staff, who are primarily engaged to HIV/AIDS.
