In 1997, HIV infected a few people. Since then, the country has seen a rapid increase in cases of infection with HIV. In 2004, the number has grown to the 250,000.
Now Cambodia is a country with the highest incidence of HIV in populations throughout Asia, and according to the statistics of 2005 increased the number of children due to AIDS have lost their parents to 77,000, more than 12,000 confirmed the presence of HIV.
