Haiti, the poorest country of the American continent, was hit by a destructive earthquake of magnitude 7,3 degrees on the Richter scale on January 12, 2010. The epicentre was close the capital, Port-au-Prince and the destruction was enormous. More than 230.000 people have died, 300.000 people have been injured and more than one million people have lost their homes.

MAGNA operates in Haiti since 2010. This consists of 4 international and 10 local staff, who are primarily engaged in health care, mental health and response to emergencies humanitarian disasters.
