East Africa has been affected by the worst draught since 1950. Extreme draught, drought-damaged crops and dying cattle and have led to a massive growth of food prices. Over 13 million people are now facing famine in large areas of Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and the rest of the region. Undernourishment has reached extreme limits whereas women and children are affected the most.  2 million children are suffering from chronic malnutrition in East Africa. Acute, life-threatening malnutrition paralyzed more then half million of them.

Collected funds are going to be spent on humanitarian aid in East Africa - specifically in Kenya, region Garissa by the Somali border. The main objective is to reduce child mortality due to malnutrition. Our project provides therapeutic nutrition, medications and professional health care for the most vulnerable pediatric patients. MAGNA opens a stabilization center with inpatient ward for treating seriously ill children and provides 8 nutrition centers in the region of Garissa.
